Am 24.05. trifft an einem besonderen Abend träumerischer Singer/Songwriter Pop von Love, The Twains auf den genreübergreifenden Sound von Ali July,
wenn sich die Leipziger Musikerinnen Lena Franke-King und Alicia Krähe in der Galerie Ely Dobritz zu einem abwechslungsreichen Doppelkonzert zusammenfinden.
Ali July
Ali July mischt Harfenklänge mit sanfter Stimme und ehrlichen Texten.
Mit ihrer elektrischen Harfe baut sie einen Sound, der irgendwo zwischen Singer-Songwriter, Pop, Folk, Indie und Jazz zuhause ist – aber trotzdem ganz eigen bleibt.
Ihre Songs erzählen von Sehnsüchten, Zweifeln und dem Mut, neu anzufangen.
Love, The Twains
Das ist gefühlvoller Singer/Songwriter-Pop (mit gelegentlich gelegentlich erhobenen Mittelfingern) aus Leipzig. Nach den Anfängen als Duo ist Love, The Twains inzwischen das Soloprojekt von Lena Franke-King.
In ihren aktuellen Songs klamüsert sie insbesondere die Liebe im Kontext semi-gesunder Beziehungen und des Patriarchats auseinander. Love, The Twains lädt die Zuhörenden zum Träumen, Seufzen und Schmunzeln ein.

PAISAJES DEL FIN DEL MUNDO exhibition by Juan Bautista

Juan Bautista wurde 1978 in der Stadt Diego de Almagro in der Atacama-Region in Chile geboren. Sein Leben ist seit jeher mit der Wüste und der Landschaft verbunden. Deshalb interessierte er sich für ein Studium der Bildenden Künste, zunächst an der Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación und dann als Bachelor of Arts an der Universidad Católica de Chile, hat aber immer seine Leidenschaft für Malerei, Fotografie, Bildhauerei und Video gepflegt.
Er hat an zahlreichen Ausstellungen in Chile, Brasilien, Kuba, Argentinien, Spanien und Deutschland teilgenommen. Seine Werke befinden sich in Privatsammlungen in Amerika und Europa und wurden mit dem Nationalen Jugendpreis 2006 in der Kategorie „Kunst und Kultur“ ausgezeichnet; erster Platz beim audiovisuellen Festival „Geschichte der Malerei“, UMCE, Santiago, 2005; Preis für den kulturellen Beitrag der Gemeinde Diego de Almagro, 2005 und 2022.

In his work he often uses sign and writing, which he uses in her personal record, working mainly in drawing and printmaking techniques on paper, his favourite substrate. He experiments with techniques and with paper, creates her own inks, paints, uses natural materials, all available and handmade drawing tools. He mainly uses liquid art materials: Japanese sumi ink, ink, pigment ink, paints. He values any tool that leaves a trace, disturbing the surface, including one that has no pigment at all. He also explores the realm of the small space of time between concept and trace, which stems from his interest in writing, calligraphy, printmaking and drawing. Important to him is the gesture, the drawing, the letter in all its froms as a means of expression and a medium to achieve his artistic goals. He takes inspiration from the letter, ideogram and pictogram by using them in his personal graphic notation, and rarely makes advanced sketches of works.

UNION solo exhibition by Karlos Kaplan
